A SUSTAINABLE NOVI
Novi’s future depends on planning with our residents’ needs at the forefront. Sustainability requires the support of our city leaders and a commitment to concrete goals. Thoughtful development that protects our parks, waterways and green spaces and the infrastructure to support it will make Novi a desirable city now and for years to come.
Purchase Park Land and Green spaces
The City Council once had a goal of acquiring 50 acres of land per year to protect it from development - but that goal has disappeared like so many of our trees and wetlands have. With our city rapidly building out, it is important that the City Council take an active role in preserving the remaining green spaces for residents. We will support restoring this goal and we will advocate for more parks and natural areas especially where there is currently a lack of walkable parklands, trails, and corridors.

GREEN CONNECTIVITY
A city as beautiful as Novi should not have walkways that lead to nowhere. Connecting our existing walkways and identifying new opportunities for expanded trails will be a priority under our leadership.
Sustainability Committee and Preserving Our History
In 2021, two City Council Members presented an ambitious goal that the city establish a sustainability committee which would be tasked with reviewing the city’s environmental footprint and offering solutions to make our community more environmentally friendly. Although their efforts were not supported, we believe our city can plan for the future while honoring our past. We support the creation of this committee and look forward to collaborating to bring 21st century solutions to Novi.
SMART, RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT
Novi’s future depends on planning with our residents’ needs at the forefront. Sustainability requires the support of our city leaders and a commitment to concrete goals. Thoughtful development that protects our parks, waterways and green spaces and the infrastructure to support it will make Novi a desirable city now and for years to come. Novi has grown faster than our infrastructure can support and has resulted in loss of the green spaces that our community values. We are committed to thoughtful development with the goal of incentivizing the repurposing of vacant and blighted spaces in our city.
